Health Code

Throughout most of mankind's history food and water have been pretty uncomplicated. The statutes Moses wrote down for dietary code were short and simple. Clean water was permitted to drink, and polluted water was prohibited. Certain plants and animals were permitted for consumption, and some plants and animals were prohibited. The fat and blood of the permissible animals were prohibited for consumption. Lastly, food--especially meat and sugar--was not to be eaten in excess of what was needed. The list of healthful/fit ("clean") animals and unhealthful/unfit ("unclean") are listed in the law of Moses, and details of what blood contaminated and what it did not contaminate are also explained. It's pretty simple and easy to understood.

Over the last few decades things have radically changed. Things aren't nearly as simple as the statutes Moses wrote over three thousand years ago. We have numerous synthetic chemicals now that are defined as "food," we have genetically-modified food, food that has been sprayed with toxic chemicals, foods that have been raised with hormones and antibiotics, plant fats and milk fat that have had their molecular structures changed, water that has been treated with deadly chemicals, food that has been irradiated or microwaved; and we have artificial milk for infants and highly-sweetened, highly-drugged drinks for child and adult alike. There are so many harmful things our there now that it's becoming quite difficult to live a healthy Godly life when eating and drinking. God's Law, though, is the only one that can be trusted. The united States of America has wicked bribe-receiving servants regulating what is lawful and unlawful to eat. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) outlaws food and drugs that are lawful under the Law of God, and it promotes food and drugs that are unlawful under the Law of God.

As with all the scriptures, where you find a little bit here and a little bit there, and to find the complete truth you must search (Isa. 28:9-13), the guidelines concerning food are not found all in one spot throughout the Torah.

Plants for Food

Concerning plants, it is lawful for us to eat herbs (plants/vegetation) that bear seed and trees that bear fruit with seeds. (Gen. 1:29). We are allowed to use any part(s) of permissible plant: leaves, roots, stems, flowers, fruits, and seeds. Now notice that animals were given every green (chlorophyll-producing) plant (vs. 30), but mankind was only given vegetation that bears seed. Not all plants bear seed. Fungus, which is usually considered by modern taxonomy to be in a group of its own, is often categorized as a non-green plant. Fungi include mushrooms, slime molds, puff balls, etc. They neither bear seed (they bear spores instead), nor are they green (chlorophyll-producing). Green plants produce their own food using light energy from the sun. Fungus cannot make its own food; it scavenges dead plants and other decaying material. The mushrooms that are bought in stores were farmed on fecal material. One person I know defended their mushroom-eating by stating that the bible talks about dunging (giving manure to) trees. The plants don't directly eat that, though. The manure simply adds nutrients to the soil.  There’s a big difference.

Alga is a green plant, because it produces chlorophyll, but it does not bear seed. It bears spores. Algae also live in the water, and all living things in the waters are forbidden, except for creatures with fins and scales (Lev. 11:10). Mushrooms and various algae--especially seaweeds like chlorella and spirulina--are popular on some persons' plates, but they are forbidden as food under the Law of God. When used as food, mushrooms, algae, mosses and lichens are classified as vegetables (herbs), but these herbs are not to be our food!

Plants should be grown in organic soil with no harmful pesticides. When the Law of God is followed, blessings abound on the land, and there is certainly no need for insecticides and herbicides. In the long run, these horrible poisons cause the problems for which they were meant to eradicate actually worse. For example, the natural predators to pest insects will be poisoned when they eat the poisoned insects. When these helpful predators die, or when they get sick and develop infertility or have deformed offspring, their numbers diminish. Meanwhile, the DNA in the pest insects that do not die from the poisons incurs changes, and the offspring of these insects will be resistant to the pesticides. This is God's natural programming he made for His creatures to help insure the survival of their species.

Man, in his carnal nature, tends to concoct an even stronger different batch of poisons to kill the prior-poison-resistant species, rather than repent and create a healthy environment that more naturally reduces the pest populations. So the vicious cycle continues, as later generations of pests become resistant to the more toxic pesticides, and more of the natural predators are sickened and die when eating the pests. The predatory animals that survive will have DNA changes as well, but in general, the higher up something is on the food chain, the lower their numbers. When a great percentage of the predators are becoming sick and dying or having infertility problems, and yet some of the pests who survive go on to become resistant to that poison, the ones coming out on the winning side are the pests.  The predators who eat the pests and the people who eat the crops are the ones who lose!

It is also commanded that seed which a clean animal’s carcass has touched is clean (okay to sow and eat the fruit thereof), but if water has touched the seed, and then an animal’s carcass touches it, the seed is rendered unclean (not okay to sow and eat the fruit thereof).  Read Lev. 11:37-38.  This makes sense, because once water touches a seed, the germination process begins.  The seed could be genetically defiled.

Mixing Seeds and Genetic Engineering

Planting a field with different seeds is also forbidden (Lev. 19:19).  The main reason for this is so that the fruit of the seeds and fruit of the field or vineyard shall not be defiled (Deut. 22:9).  When cross pollination occurs, DNA is transferred from the first plant to the second plant.   When these plants are different types, the purity of the plant is defiled.  The results will be seen in the offspring plants.

Massive trade and planting crops on a massive scale outside of their native environment is also a problem.  When a foreign species is brought in without slow and careful integration, trouble is just around the corner.  Native plants are often adulterated or taken over by the foreign species.  The foreign species are then referred to  as an “invasive species.”  In addition, disease or pest epidemics often occur after an overdone introduction of a foreign species.  Part of this is due to foreign insects and diseases often being transferred to the area in the process, and in the new environment, there are no natural predators.  Native plants can actually be wiped out in this manner.  This can then lead to diminishing animal populations of species that relied on those plants for food.  When God commanded against such things as intermarrying of Israelites and gentiles and against intermingling of different seeds, He was not being hateful, nor was He commanding that a person could never intermarry or have an exotic plant.  He is loving and knows what trouble these things can cause if done in the wrong manner.

Scientists have now manipulated genes in the laboratory.  Genetic engineers are isolating genes in plants and animals, removing them, and then reinserting them into the DNA of other plants.  The main underlying reason for this is greed, but the masses are duped into believing lies like that it will help increase crop yields and feed the starving people of the world.  In truth, genetic engineering is causing mass health problems and even fatalities.  It has caused infertility, allergies, infant mortality, and other ills in both animals and humans.

I have not the space to go into the detail I’d like to about this.  There will be resources that I highly recommend you read listed in the back of this book.  You would be very wise to set aside some time to educate yourself on this issue.  In the meantime, stay away from genetically modified foods the best you can.  This includes almost all corn, soybeans, cotton, and canola (rapeseed).  These ingredients are found in nearly all packaged foods.  If it’s not organic, you would be wise not to buy things with these ingredients. One should plant things in organic fertile soil that does not have contamination of pesticides (insects, weeds, fungi, etc.), and the land should have its sabbaths, which was discussed in chapter six.

My husband and I live in the Ozark mountains and have for several years.  However, we both grew up in central Arkansas around farmland, mostly soybeans and rice.  We still visit family and friends there a few times a year.  That land has transformed noticeably over the past three decades.

The evil company Monsanto genetically engineered soybeans and patented those soybeans.  The GM soybeans contain a gene that will resist the toxic pesticide Roundup so that they can be sprayed with these chemicals and not die while the surrounding weeds are killed.  Monsanto also owns Roundup.   They then make farmers sign contracts:

Reduced choice is tied integrally to increased dependency and once a farmer decides to plant GE crops, it becomes very difficult to rethink this choice. As is the case elsewhere, farmers in South Africa buying GE cotton have to sign growers' contracts obliging them amongst other things to use the seed for only one season; to plant a refuge as part of an insect-resistance management strategy; not to supply any seed containing Bt cotton to any third party; and to exclusively use the company's chemicals. Many farmers in the US have been forced by Monsanto to destroy their crops for not complying with this agreement and several court cases are pending.

So, they deceive farmers into thinking using their GM crops is a good idea, and then the farmers are not left with much choice to continue.  They also have to buy poisons from the same company, and they can’t keep any seeds for the next year (because Monsanto owns the patent as far as US law is concerned; they’ve changed the genetics and have basically stolen from God).

Not only this, but this evil dominating company has gotten away with sueing farmers who plant non-GMO seeds but have been pollinated from Monsanto’s GM plants.  This is one of the darkest deeds!  Those poor farmers have had their crops defiled by GM plant pollen, and yet they are the ones sued by Monsanto on the charges of stealing, simply because wind or bees transferred the GM plant pollen to their non-GMO plants.  This is unjust!  It’s sickening.  May God damn Monsanto and other wicked companies like it for the evil they have done.  They have ruined innocent farmers’ lives and the lives of their families.  Honest, hardworking, moral farmers have lost their lands and farm businesses because of Monsanto’s triumphant lawsuits against them.  How long will it be before God takes vengeance upon these wicked ones?  Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

My husband and I don’t hear about many people in this area getting cancer and dying from it.  But people who live where we grew up are dropping like flies from cancer.  Farmers and those who live near fields of crops are being affected the most.  It’s the toxic pesticides, I’m sure of it.

My husband has hunted white-tailed deer for many years.  The deer up here are much healthier.  The deer in the farmland area go into the bean fields and eat poisoned GM soybeans.  Soybeans are not the best choice for large quantity eating in the first place.  When they are laden with poisonous chemicals, it’s all the worse.  Then add to it that they are genetically engineered, and you have a recipe for disaster.

We no longer like to eat deer from down there.  One time, a decade or more ago when we still lived there, my husband had to dispose of a whole deer he killed.  It was not fit to eat, because of the strange tumors he found inside of its body when he was cleaning it.

Pesticides and Overworking the Land

The farmers never let the land rest.  We’ve seen the same fields planted year after year over the past three decades.  Adding synthetic fertilizers does not do the job.  The land must rest, says God!

It’s been very noticeable the last few years how puny the soybeans look in the fields.  They are not thriving.  Also weather catastrophes are starting to take their toll.  The increase in weather catastrophes is also caused by mankind’s ruining the planet.

The soil in those fields no longer looks rich and fertile.  It’s very light in color.  It’s raped.  It’s gray-looking, and it seems to be turning into sand.  After the tribulation, the land will receive all the sabbaths it has due it.

Circumcision of Fruit Trees

Fruit trees are to be considered uncircumcised the first three years, holy to God the fourth year, and then the fruit could be eaten the fifth year (Lev. 19:23-25).  Wesley’s notes has this to say:

That is, as unclean, not to be eaten but cast away. This precept was serviceable, To the trees themselves, which grew the better and faster, being early stript of those fruits, which otherwise would have drawn away much more of the strength from the tree. To men, both because the fruit then was less wholesome, and because hereby men were taught to bridle their appetites; a lesson of great use and absolute necessity in a holy life.

Pruning trees is a type of circumcision to help the tree be fruitful.  If cared for the correct way the first few years, a mature fruit tree should bear abundant fruit for the owner’s pleasure.

Animals for Food

Just as God has rules governing plants for food, he also has rules governing animals for food.

And Jehovah spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,  Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.  Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the rock badger, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.  And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.  Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.(Lev. 11:1-8).

Any hoofed animal that has split hooves and chews the cud is considered clean.  Our health knowledge today is extensive, and these are indeed considered healthful meats.  These are things like goats, sheep, deer, cattle, bison, and the like.

Horses, donkeys, pigs, and others are hooved, but they either do not have split hooves, and/or they do not chew the cud.  They are not healthful meats to eat.  It’s also interesting to note that the animals designated as unclean (unhealthful/unfit to eat) are the more intelligent animals.

Pork is a popular meat, and a good number of people now realize that it is not a healthful meat, despite the fact the ones making money from pork trying to cause people to believe otherwise with their “other white meat” messages.  It’s full of greasy fat, and  hogs are full of toxic waste.  What hogs eat becomes flesh very quickly, and toxins are stored in fat.  Hogs will eat anything, too, and they carry the dangerous trichina worm, which is usually not killed with normal cooking, or even with overcooking.

Rabbits are very disgusting animals.  They’re as cute as can be, in my opinion, but food they are not.  They are commonly infested with bot fly larvae and other creatures, and they carry tularemia.  Rabbits are often raised for their manure.  Manure from unclean animals should not be used for fertilizer.  One is especially asking for trouble by using the feces of carnivorous animals, as the soil will likely teem with parasites.

Dr. Rex Russell reproduced in his book What the Bible Says About Healthy Living a table based on a 1953 study done by Dr. David Macht of Johns Hopkins University of the toxic range of clean and unclean animals.

[He] reported the toxic effects of animal flesh on a controlled growth culture.  A substance was classified as toxic if it slowed the growth rate below 75 percent.  In each case, the blood of all the animals Dr. Macht tested showed up more toxic than the flesh...Note that the flesh of animals and fish given to us by God for food are all nontoxic, but all forbidden animals lie in the toxic range.

These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:  They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcasses in abomination.  Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. (Lev. 11:9-12).

Many fish without both fins and scales are scavenger fish.  They eat dead matter.  Some of them eat toxic spillage from the water’s surface.  Catfish is a commonly eaten fish that has no scales.  It is an abomination to God and should be to you.  It is a creature that was designed by God to clean up filth.  Have you noticed the bait that is used to catch a catfish, or might you not even know?  I do know, because I grew up near the White River.  I knew several fishermen who made their livings by catching catfish.  Catfish love gross rotting organs and other abominable things. And then some folks sit down and enjoy a catfish dinner.

Sharks are at the top of the fish foodchain...well, that is until a human eats it.  Shark meat is terribly toxic.  I watched on a nature program that sharks will eat trash that has been thrown into the ocean, even metal and plastic.  One meal of shark puts a pregnant woman at very high risk of miscarriage due to all the toxic methylmercury that shark meat contains now.

Methylmercury is present in most fish now, thanks to so much toxic mercury being released into our atmosphere and then falling into the water.  It concentrates more in the flesh as it works its way up through the foodchain.  I wrote a book about mercury and other toxic metals, and during my research I discovered that three of the four most mercury-contaminated fish were fish that are designated unfit for human consumption by our loving Creator.

And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, And the vulture, and the kite after his kind; Every raven after his kind; And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after his kind,  And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,  And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,  And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat (Lev. 11:13-19).

Any bird of prey and scavenger birds, as well as any flightless birds are unfit for food.  For a better understanding of what characteristics make a bird fit or unfit to eat, visit my coghealth.net website or keithhunt.com.   Keith Hunt has written studies on clean and unclean plants and animals.

All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.  Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;  Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the cricket after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.  But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you (Lev. 11:20-23).

All insects and other creeping things, such as arachnids (spiders, mites, etc.), worms, and so on are unclean, except for locusts, grasshoppers, and crickets.  I’ve read that the best way to eat grasshoppers is to roast them over an open flame.  That seems to be the most common way.

Many of those who call themselves Christians ask God to bless their already-cursed food.  Do not be deceived.  God does not bless such, except possibly in extreme situations where one must eat something unclean to survive.  A life-and-death situation is something altogether different, though, from an everyday situation.

Dead Carcasses

And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcass of them shall be unclean until the even.  And whosoever beareth ought of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. The carcasses of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.  And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcass shall be unclean until the even.  And he that beareth the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you. (Lev. 11:24-28).

Most people who are not living lives in full-blown heathen tribes understand that dead bodies are unclean and can spread disease.  If you touch a dead body of any sort, you need to thoroughly wash your hands and anything else that touched it.  The same goes for touching the dead bodies of clean animals (Lev. 11:39-40).

These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,  And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.  These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.  And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.  And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.  Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean. And every thing whereupon any part of their carcass falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you.  Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcass shall be unclean.  And if any part of their carcass fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.  But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcass fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you (Lev. 11:29-38).

Again, dead bodies, especially those of unclean creatures, can spread disease.  Most in our society now use stainless steel and glass for vessels and ovens, but if you own any earthen vessels or an earthen oven, and something unclean comes into contact with them, they must be destroyed.  If you own such vessels, you probably understand well why.  The contaminant will soak into the pan or whatever the vessel is.  You are not supposed to put raw meat into contact with earthenware.  You should also not use wooden cutting boards for raw meat for the same reason.

If a dead body comes into contact with a large water source, it shouldn’t do any harm.  I already discussed why you should not use seed that has been contaminated.

Creepy Crawlies

And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten. Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.  Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.  For I am Jehovah your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am Jehovah that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten (Lev. 11:41-46).

Things such as reptiles, worms, and other creeping creatures are abominable for food.  These are things heathens would eat.  Godly people who are civilized should not be found eating such things.  A food code is not some “ceremonial” code of law, as some claim, who want to continue eating abominable creatures.  What a bunch of nonsense!  I don’t hear anyone suggesting that the United States FDA is just having some ceremonial fun when they instate their food regulations.

The US FDA has horrible food regulations, and they lie when they tell you they are there to protect you and keep you healthy.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  However, God tells the truth, and his regulations will keep you healthy.  Who do you believe?  Which government do you want to serve?

Blood

We are also not to eat any blood (Lev. 7:26-27; 17:10-14; Deut. 12:16,23; 15:23).  The blood is what carries pathogens and other harmful materials.  Animals should have their blood immediately drained, and their meat can be “koshered” by salt-soaking it and then rinsing it.  Salt pulls out the blood.

This would also apply to blood transfusions.  Unless it’s truly a life-and-death situation, do not take anyone else’s blood into your body.  Even with all the safety regulations, people are still ending up with diseases from blood transfusions, as well as toxins, such as heavy metals.  Blood also carries genetic material, and I’ve already discussed the repercussions of mixing genes.  Non-compatibility is now a common thing.  This can lead to serious consequences.  A woman whose body identifies another blood type that has entered her body as a foreign invader can be faced with her body rejecting a future child in her womb, if that child has that same type of blood.

Fat

We are not to eat the visible fat or the “cover fat” of clean animals (Lev. 7:23-25).  Most who are not living in a closet or cave have heard scientific evidence of health-harm from eating this fat from animals.

Torn Animals and Questionable Deaths

Animals that have been preyed upon by other animals should not be eaten (Ex. 22:31).  The more obvious reason is that the animal would not be fresh, but even if it had just been killed, it may be diseased, since predators tend to go after the weak animals; and the predator could have been carrying a disease and could have left behind pathogens (remember, predator animals are unclean and often carry disease).  Lastly, the animal could be mutilated, and/or it could have been strangled or suffered some other slow kill.  A high adrenaline content will be in the flesh of the meat, which is toxic.  The blood also will not have been drained.

The scriptures also admonish us not to eat an animal that has died of itself, or in other words an animal that has died of natural causes, rather than being killed by another.  The reasons for this are pretty much the same for the animal that was killed by another animal(s).  However, the Israelites were told they could give this animal to the gentiles within their gates.

Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto Jehovah thy God (Deut. 14:21a).

What is good for one people is not good for another people, either, but I can understand that there is a good chance the animal will not cause any specific harm to the consumers thereof, and a really poor family might benefit more from having it than not.  The foreigners in the nations of Israel (Anglo-saxon and Scandinavian nations and Judah [“Israel”]) are typically poorer than the average Americans, Canadians, British, Danish, Swedish, Israeli, etc. citizens.  Here in America, the African-Americans and Mexicans are poorer in general than the Anglo-Saxon and other Semitic (usually German/Assyrian) peoples.  People living in poverty will take what they can get.

Of course, the optimum thing to do, in my opinion, is dispose of a questionable animal that died of itself, and then let it serve as a reminder to provide healthful sustenance to a family in need. Then go through with it; go kill or purchase something good and deliver it to someone in need.  It matters not whether the person is physically African descended, Anglo-Saxon descended, or whatever else.  Just wisely make your choice, whenever you help those in need. Always make an effort to give to those truly in honest need and not those who are simply lazy and wicked and will likely squander your money and pass you off as naive.

Evolving Code of Law

Whenever knowledge increases, law increases.  God’s Law governing human behavior is summed up by  two commandments, with the second commandment being divided into two sub-commandments:  love [trust, honor, and obey] the Great I Am with all your heart, life, and mind; and love yourself and your fellow man as you do yourself.

Further dividing these commandments into ten commandments specifies it even more.  During the time of Israel’s freedom from Egypt captivity, Moses gave them a written code.  It’s commonly referred to as the “law of Moses.”  The reason for this is because a physical code of law is everchanging.  We should already have observed and know this regardless of the nation in which we live and what type of man’s government with which we’ve had to endure.  The legislators in Washington, D.C. in the U.S. are always super-busy adding to the U.S. law code.

The law of Moses is made up of statutes Moses wrote down to instruct the then-current nation of Israel on what they should or should not do.  A lot of the things I mention in this book are not found in the law of Moses, because they did not apply then.  Whereas that code of law was a schoolteacher then, what I am writing is a schoolteacher for now.

For spirit-begotten children of God, though, the spirit of the law should be followed, which means a child of God is taught by the Firstborn of the Most High God and by the Father Himself through the Holy Spirit on what he or she should or should not do.  He or she should not limit himself to some physical statutes written down by another human being.  Then it also must be considered that many statutes written by man--statutes that should not even be enforced-- squash a person’s liberty under the Law of God.

I’ve given examples of things written under prior commandments that didn’t exist exactly at the time of Moses.  I will give more examples in later chapters.  There will be plenty of examples here in the remainder of this commandment, including information about modern diet.

An Intro to Modern Food

Health-conscious authors Dr. Scott Whitaker and Jose Fleming say it nicely:

Man has replaced natural raw sugar with white refined sugar, whole grain brown bread with white bread, and naturally dense brown rice with white rice.  Foods in their natural state are replaced with synthetic and genetically-engineered by-products.  Our commerical herbs and meats are irradiated, our commercial breads don’t even mold any more...All animals should be properly nourished, properly raised, and properly slaughtered befor selling them to the public.

It would be wise for readers to read and research about factory farms and how animals are raised with hormones, antibiotics, genetically-engineered grain, no grass and sunshine and exercise, abuse, highly-stressful and unclean slaughter, etc.

Learn about the difference between whole grains (more importantly, freshly ground grains) and whole sugars versus refined grain-flours and refined sugars.

One should educate him- or herself about neurotoxic artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors, and preservatives.  Research “excitotoxins.”  Aspartame, Splenda, MSG, nitrites and nitrates, and many other chemicals spell death to your neurons and cause serious and sometimes fatal problems with other bodily system functions.

Water is vital to one’s health.  If it is contaminated with chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, micro-organisms, pharmaceutical drugs, and/or other contaminants, its consumers will suffer ill health.  If a person is not drinking enough, dehydration will cause multiple bodily system malfunctions, and chronic dehydration could mean a premature death through the means of various illnesses.  A rare abuse is overdrinking water (polydipsia), and it can be easily be fatal.

Heavy metals are present in water supplies, food supplies, fish, drugs, food cans, and elsewhere.  Some heavy metals are required in trace amounts by our bodies, such as iron, copper, and manganese. People are deceived into thinking iron deficiency is a widespread problem, when nothing could be further from the truth.  There is a big misunderstanding about this topic, and I explained this in depth in my book Genetic Heavy Metal Toxicity.

Other heavy metals such as mercury and lead are not needed by our bodies and are terribly toxic, especially neurotoxic.  This has been a terrible problem in past cultures and empires, and it has become a problem once again, because people do not learn from history.  Fish are a major source of dangerous methymercury, and until the planet is cleaned up, most fish should be avoided.  Look in the resources section in the back of this book for an Internet link to a fish mercury calculator.

Plastics are non-biodegradable toxic substances made from petrochemicals.  These should be avoided when possible and recycled when they must be used.  Plastics are also neurotoxic, some forms more than others.  Choose safe wooden, metal, and fabric toys for your children over plastic; and choose glass, metal, wooden, and earthenware vessels for food and drinks over plastic.  Keep plastic to a minimum.

Microwave ovens use microwave radiation to heat food.  These microwaves kill many nutrients, and it alters the molecular structure of the food.  I’ve not used a microwave oven for over four years as of now and don’t have any use for such a device in our home.  After researching this, you may also decide not to use one or at least to rarely use one.

Milk

The U.S. government has made it illegal for people to sell raw milk.  Very few states have statutes allowing its sale.  Those who do not own their own milk animals but wish to drink healthful raw milk must go around these man-made freedom-squashing regulations by telling dairy farmers that they want to buy milk for their pets.

Most milk found in the marketplaces is both pasteurized and homogenized.  Pasteurization is the heating of the milk at high temperatures to kill any harmful bacteria.  This is celebrated as a good idea.  However, this renders the milk unhealthful, for the most part.  Sure, it still has some calcium, protein, and some other things, but most or all the living enzymes, vitamin C, good bacteria (that fight the bad bacteria and promote healthy bowels), and other heat-vulnerable substances are destroyed.

When healthy persons drink raw milk from healthy cattle, it’s so very rare for any of them to get sick from harmful bacteria.  On the other hand, people get sick all the time from bad pasteurized milk.

The Mathis Dairy in Atlanta, Georgia, sells huge amounts of clean raw milk that is carefuly scrutinized by the FDA.  No cases of brucellosis or other contamination are being transmitted by drinking this milk.  The health risk remains low if clean milk is produced.

Every few years a local outbreak of listeria or salmonella infections occur when milk consumption is a primary factor.  Most cases I have seen reported, however, were caused from drinking pasteurized milk.  Pasteurization does no guarantee that the milk will be clean.  The FDA only requires a bacteria count of less than 75,000 per cubic centimeter of Grade A milk.  By heating, or pasteurizing, the count is dropped to about 25,000; but the count may be back up by the time it is sold--and it will still be considered Grade A milk.  You may get sick when harmful bacteria are present.

Certified raw milk, on the other hand, has to contain bacteria counts of less than 10,000--and raw milk can earn this certification easily if it is clean.

Homogenization is described as follows:

Homogenization breaks up the larger butterfat globules in whole milk into very tiny globules, which suspends them evenly in the milk.  This means the milk doesn’t require stirring when it is stored, and may add to the storage life of the product.  The resulting modification, however, may point to one of the contributing factors for the large increase in vascular disease in the United States.

The normal larger butterfat molecules in nonhomogenized milk bounce through the intestine, and only small portions are absorbed as they travel through the intestines because of the limited surface area in contact with the mucosa of the small bowel.  The smaller particles of butterfat resulting from homogenization create a marked increase in the surface area of butterfat presented to the mucosa of the small bowel.  The small particles pass quickly into the bloodstream.  The result is that nearly all of the fat in homogenized milk enters the bloodstream, raising our triglycerides and cholesterol levels unnecessarily, according to Jack Mathis.

More on Fat

Fat is another topic about which people are very deceived.  Some fats are very important; our bodies require them.  Much can be said about this topic, but I’ll quote Dr. Rex Russell one final time to summarize this subject:

Healthful fats are plentiful and are found in the unprocessed things God created for food.  God promised His people, “You can enjoy the fat of the land” (Gen. 45:18).

Enjoy...Any fat found in a created food--nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, and legumes--will be healthful.  We can enjoy pure butter and unrefined liquid oils that have been protected from air, light, heat and chemicals.  They have proven to be better for us than chemically extracted oils.  The best oils for cooking are virgin olive oil and butter.  Even fat found in the marbled flesh of “clean” animals, birds, or fish is healthful.

Avoid...Nearly all liquid oils, because they are severely damaged by the removal of nutrients and the addition of chemicals during processing.  If possible, avoid the meat of animals that have been overfed or given hormones or antibiotics.  Also avoid their “cover fat” or suet.  These fatty acids block the healthy functions of cells.  Avoid margarine and all solid vegetable shortenings because they contain artificially hydrogenated fats.  Above all, avoid the fat of all scavengers.  Avoid high-temperature cooking such as deep frying.  Cook by steaming or baking instead.

Processed foods should be avoided, and foods that can spoil ought to be preferred and just eaten before they spoil.  If bacteria, mold, and other microbes do not want to eat it, you ought to ask yourself why you want to do so.  Also store foods properly, do not eat anything that is spoiled, and make sure your meats are cooked thoroughly.  Grill or smoke things in moderatrion and avoid grilling over an open flame.  These forms of cooking are fine when used sparingly, but it forms carcinogens, and so when one eats this sort of food often, he or she is risking a high risk of cancer.

Foods and drugs can be abused in the form of both misuse (which includes using foods and drugs that ought not to be used as such by humans) and overuse.  Gluttony and drunkenness is harshly condemned in the scriptures.  Drunkeness and other drug abuse will be addressed shortly.

Gluttony

Gluttony is overeating and/or eating too quickly.    When we sit down to eat, we should not ravenously eat our food like beasts or heathens.  This is not only rude, but it’s hard on the digestive system and can easily lead to overeating.

Overeating leads to all sorts of ailments and can affect every bodily system.  Gluttony is another obvious sin on the rise.  For the United States, based on several studies, close to two out of three adults are overweight or obese, with at least one out of four adults falling into the obese category.  This is awful!  It’s true, though.  When I go out and about, I see it all around me.  It’s astounding!

The sin of gluttony is ranked alongside drunkeness, but I don’t see it being treated the same way.  Remember, the law of Moses required the death penalty for wayward adolescents and adults who would not repent of their drunken and gluttonous lifestyles (Deut. 20:20-21).

Based both on my personal observation and a published recent telephone interview study, obese persons are less likely to eat as many fruits and vegetables as normal- and overweight people do.

Gluttony most often involves over-indulging in meats and/or sugars and refined flours.  The United States is a wealthy nation, and it eats a lot of meat compared to most other nations.

Flesh Meat

Red meat, and especially beef, is eaten in excess.  According to the Mediterranean diet pyramid, red meat is typically eaten once a month.  I’ve been pretty successful in limiting myself to once a week or less.  I used to eat red meat four or five times a week and sometimes more.  Some people eat it twice or more daily!  Cattle are fat, and it takes a lot of money to raise one.  Beef ideally should be eaten during great feasts such as God’s annual holy days, possibly weekly sabbaths, and weddings.

Excess meat can cause energy loss, digestive problems, cancer, osteoporosis, body odor, heart disease, insulin resistance, and much more.

Sugar

I eat a small amount of dark chocolate nearly every day, and I fix a special dessert once a week, for the weekly sabbath feast.  It’s normative in our society, though, for people to eat big desserts after each evening meal and for some after their mid-day meals, too.  That is in addition to the candy bar snacks and sugary drinks most people consume in this nation.  People have a major problem with moderation!  Sugar is probably the most abused substance in our wealthy nations.  Do you have a substance abuse problem?

Excess sugar can suppress the immune system, stress the pancreas and cause insulin resistance, contribute to intestinal flora imbalance, cause hyperactivity, cause tooth decay, disrupt hormonal imbalance leading to fatigue and sexual problems and other disorders, raise bad cholesterol levels and lower good cholesterol, weaken bones leading to osteoporosis,  create skin problems, prevent adequate absorption of nutrients, give cancer energy and so much more.

We need sugar, and sweet things are here for us also to enjoy.  Food and drugs are both needful and enjoyable, but moderation and proper use must be exercised!  Many are letting themselves be overcome by the sins of gluttony and drunkeness.

Calories vs. Nutrients

One of the reasons why people in our nations are overeating is because of starvation, as odd as that sounds!  How can one be dragging blubber around and be starving at the same time, you may ask.  These flabby folks are starving for nutrients!  These people are not eating whole foods--fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh whole grains and whole raw sugars, and organic unprocessed dairy foods.  They are eating refined grains and sweeteners along with an array of toxic synthetic chemicals and lots of bad fats.

We are equipped with an appestat.  This is the part of the brain that regulates our dietary intake.  It’s based on nutritional intake.  When eating a good diet, the appestat sends out a “full” feeling once the the brain determines that the body has taken in a sufficient amount of nutrients--vitamins, minerals, good sugars, proteins, good fats, enzymes, etc.

When a person eats a lot of of refined and processed foods nearly devoid of nutrients, he or she is still taking in calories (the body transforms it into sugars for immediate energy, which if not used, is then converted to stored energy--fat). The appestat does not register being satisfied, so it continues to send out a signal of hunger.  The person continues and continues to eat.  The person only stops when he or she is literally full, meaning the stomach capacity is maxed.  Even though the person feels bad, because he or she is stuffed, he or she still longs for something else to eat.  As soon as the body processes the stomach contents, the person literally fills the stomach again.  The person gains weight and starts developing various problems due to the lack of proper nutrition.

The best way I’ve seen this to be true in my own body is when I’ve eaten pizza from a restaurant, made with its refined white flour and poor quality sauce.  I can eat several pieces and then stop when I feel like my stomach is about to burst.  I feel awful afterward and guilty for even  having eaten it.  I still long for something more, but there’s no way I can eat more of anything.  On the contrary, I have fixed pizza at home made with freshly ground whole wheat flour, extra virgin olive oil, organic sauce and cheese, and I cannot eat much of it.  The fiber in the crust is filling, and it also has plenty of nutrients.

Fiber supplements are marketed, because people have trouble going to the bathroom or find themselves gaining too much weight.  This is ridiculous!  Supplemental fiber is idiotic when, if a person is eating whole grains and fruits and vegetables, they will be getting plenty of the fiber they need.  Fiber supplements may indeed keep a person from eating more calories, but what is it doing to make up for all the nutrients the person is lacking?

Other foolish practices are silly fad diets where one eats a “low-carb,” high-meat diet or some pre-packaged meals or eats a limited number of foods, rather than variety.  Wisdom related to diet can be found in the proverbs of Solomon, such as Prov. 23:1-3, 20-21; 24:13; 25:16.

Vitamins and Minerals Supplements

One should ideally strive to get all their vitamin and mineral needs from organic whole foods.  God is the master chemist and nutritionist.  He knows better than any man how all the chemicals work together.  Most multi-vitamin products are put together in terrible ratios, and many vitamins are now synthesized.  There is overwhelming evidence that synthetic vitamins cause far more harm than good.

It’s true that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get enough of one’s vitamin and mineral needs from even organic whole foods.  If one is letting the land rest, using organic manure, using organic heirloom seeds, and eating healthful animal products, and is getting plenty of sunshine and exercise, he or she should be getting all or nearly all of what he or she needs.

In certain parts of the world, it’s difficult to get sufficient vitamin D year round.  In the winter a person can eat fatty fish to get vitamin D, but it’s usually not sufficient, especially now that it’s becoming unsafe to eat much fish.

If a person does determine he or she needs supplements, it’s important to get quality ones and to avoid synthetics at all costs.  It’s important also to get iron-free formulas when choosing a mult-vitamin.  This is difficult to do, but there are such supplements out there.  It’s also better to use whole food vitamins, but it’s nearly impossible to find this without them containing seaweeds.

Vitamin and mineral supplements should be treated with the same caution as isolated drugs.  Do your research, and make wise choices.  The more you get from whole foods and the less from supplements, the better off you will be.

Fasting vs. Starvation

Everything needs rest or abstinence cycles--rested muscles, rested minds, etc. The digestive system (and the body overall) needs a rest, and the body needs a cleansing.  Quick fasts are good for healthful maintenance.  Deep, long fasts shift the body into a mode of healing and reparation.  This is good for breaking addictions and healing chronic illnesses, including cancer.

Religious fasting helps remind us of God’s providence, and with the growing hunger we are in the perfect position to seriously pray for God to work when something urgent is being required.  It shows God humility and seriousness.

The body was made for fasting.  Fasting is not starvation, although it can turn into that.  When a person fasts, the body reaches for its stores.  Certain vitamins and minerals are stored, and sometimes these things are stored in high amounts that need to be dropped.  Fat is our stored energy.  Fat also stores toxins.  When we fast, the fat is burned as energy, and the toxins are carried from the body (provided a person drinks clean water so that they can be carried away via sweat and urine). When a person burns through most of their stored fat, the body then goes for protein to be burned as energy.  The body starts eating the muscles.  This is when the body’s health is compromised.  After limb muscles are consumed, the organs are then systematically targeted, from least important to most important.

We were fearfully and wonderfully made.  We should not take it for granted, though.  We need to take care of our bodies.  Fasting is good.  Starving is bad.

Breast milk

Finally, before moving on to drugs, I want to talk about breast milk and its importance for infants and toddlers.

God intended for all creatures with mammary glands to produce milk for their babies and to nurse them.  Breast milk is the only food and drug an infant needs.  Human breast milk is for human infants.  It has all the fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antibodies, drugs (such as endorphins and cannabinoids), and other chemicals that babies need in all the right ratios.  Breast milk is an amazing substance!

Most people have heard more than once, “Breast milk is better than formula.  It lowers your risk of...” and then a laundry list of things follows.  However, this is misleading and doesn’t cast artificial milk “formula” as badly as it should.  Just the word “formula” when speaking of an infant’s food sounds suspicious, but people hear it so often that hardly anyone stops to think about it.  The point, though, is that formula should not be the object of comparison.  Human breast milk was here first.  God made it.  The latter is just what they call it: manmade formula.  So, breast milk doesn’t lower a baby’s and mother’s risk of any bad thing.  Rather, the manmade stuff raises the risk of bad things for infants and their mothers.

So, what kinds of bad risks come with feeding your blessing from God a manmade substitute?  Children fed a foul-smelling manmade substitute have higher rates of things like:  cancer, diabetes, digestive disorders, asthma and respiratory infections, ear infections, heart disease, any contagious disease exposed to while nursing, improper jaw development and crooked teeth, lower IQ, and so on.

Breast milk is produced on a supply and demand system, where the more the baby nurses, the more milk is produced.  Breastfeeding is not meant to be scheduled.  God didn’t design it that way.  A mother’s  breasts also manufacture antibodies as the baby needs them.  The baby’s mouth on the mother’s nipple transfers pathogens, and within hours the milk has the antibodies for the baby to fight those pathogens.

Premature babies have special needs, such as higher protein.  A mother who gave birth prematurely produces milk specially made for a premature baby.

Breast milk contains certain drugs for the baby, such as endorphins (endogenous opioid-like compounds) for pain relief and cannabinoids (endogenous cannabis-like compounds) for appetite stimulation.

A very small percentage of women truly cannot nurse their babies.  Usually these women wish that they could, unlike the many women who truly can breastfeed but make excuses simply because they do not want to do so.  For these few women, alternatives are a Godsend.  The popular mandmade formulas, though, are not the best alternatives.  A goat’s raw milk with a few supplemental things is probably the best thing, aside from another healthy lactating woman’s milk, followed by goat-milk-based organic formula.  Non-organic cow’s milk formulas should be avoided, and I cannot recommend enough against soy-based formulas.  Do not feed your baby a soy-based formula!  All formulas are contaminated with bad things, but soy formulas are the highest in toxic heavy metals.  Unless it’s organic, the soy formula is likely from genetically engineered and poisoned soy beans.  Soy is also difficult for humans to digest and so is often associated with digestive problems.  Babies do not have mature digestive systems, anyway, so soy formula just absolutely should not be given to any baby.

Most formulas contain horrible things like high fructose corn syrup!  Not only is this a recipe for diabetes, but the corn syrup is probably from genetically engineered corn, too.

All manmade infant formulas I’ve seen have extremely high iron content, which spells disaster.  People are so deceived on the subject of iron.  God did not make a mistake by allowing only a small amount of iron in breast milk.  In addition, breast milk contains lactoferrin, an iron-binding protein which has strong antimicrobrial properties.  The reason for this is because iron feeds microbes and cancer cells.  God, in his infinite love and wisdom, included this protein with the miniscule amount of iron to help prevent babies from becoming sick.  Those who believe the U.S. government’s and mainstream allopathic medicine’s teachings on iron are being hoodwinked.  Do your research!  All we hear is how people are not getting enough iron, and the exact oppositie is true.

Women who are unable to breastfeed should not feel guilty.  There are times when we cannot do the best thing.  Obviously feeding a baby an animal’s milk or a manmade formula is a better choice than letting the child starve to death, but deliberately giving a baby a manmade formula when God’s formula is readily available is wrong.  When seeing a woman feed her baby formula, do not prejudge her.  You do not know whether the woman wanted to breastfeed and could not.  If you are a woman who cannot breastfeed, do your research to make the absolute best choice you can when considering the proper breastmilk alternative.  It’s your responsibility.

Some formula companies are indirectly responsible for the deaths of many infants, because they give out free samples to women in third world nations.  These women are led to believe the mandmade formulas are better, and when the samples are out and they cannot afford to buy the formula, their breast milk is dried up.  Those who do buy the formula have to use unsafe water to mix it.

Many hospitals and doctors provide formula samples to women.  If they truly cared about the health of women and their babies, they would promote breastfeeding.  These doctors and hospitals receive money or other gifts from formula companies to do this.   Thankfully, there are those who refuse to serve money in this way and do promote God’s food for infants.

Formula-feeding also hurts the mother.  Breastfeeding releases hormones like prolactin and oxytocin in the mother.  These relax the mother and give her feelings of love toward her child.  Oxytocin is known as the “love hormone.”  It is the main hormone that is released during sexual orgasm, and it’s the hormone responsible for the contractions of the uterus used to birth a baby and then to shrink the uterus back to down after birth.  This is why nursing the infant right after birth is important and helps prevent the woman from hemorrhaging.

Breastfeeding also greatly lowers the risk of breast cancer in women, and the longer a woman breastfeeds in her life, the lower her cancer rate is.

There is so much to be said of human breast milk, but it’s not in the scope of this book to go beyond what has been said.  There are plenty of great resources that give a wealth of information on this topic.

Drugs

Here’s another topic about which people are so very deceived.  Is it not ironic that here in the united States of America we have a “War on Drugs,” but people pop “legal” prescription drugs like they’re blueberries?  They can’t seem to get enough!  Most popular prescription drugs are very health-harming and many even fatal.  Yet, the drug most targeted in the drug war is the safest, most therapeutic drug known to mankind with no recorded deaths over its entire several-thousand-years history, namely cannabis (“marijuana”).

At the most extreme right, people are so anti-drug that they condemn people whom consume things such as chocolate and coffee, whom use medicinal herbs, and whom even consider medical attention of any sort.  At the most extreme left, people feel any drug should be freely used and abused as much as one so desires.

What is the truth?  What are drugs, and what are their uses?  What is the proper usage of drugs?  Does God hate all drugs?  Does he like drugs?  And if the answer to either of these last two questions are yes, which drugs does he hate, and which does he like?

Food and drugs are closely related.  The reason for this is that our food is made up of drugs.  Under the simplest definition, drugs are simply substances that cause physiological changes in our bodies (physical changes).  Under this definition, all the chemicals naturally in our food are drugs, whether it be sugars, proteins, fats, enzymes, hormones, etc.  The word “drug,” though, is more often associated with a more specific meaning, drugs that cause mental changes.  These are called psychoactive drugs (spirit/mind-active).  There are also quite a few psychoactive drugs in our foods.  Some are mildly psychoactive, and some have stronger effects.

Some psychoactive drugs are not ingested through eating but are taken into the body through other methods, such as inhalation, injection, and skin absorption.  Drugs used solely for physiological changes can also be taken into the bodies via these other methods.

While food can be categorized into three main categories of usage--nutritional, recreational, and religious--so can drugs be categorized into three main categories--medicinal, recreational, and religious.  The most needful of the food category for our physical well-being is nutritonal, and the most needful drug category for the same is medicinal.  The foods we eat in careful moderation, such as beef and sweets, fit better under recreational than nutritional (though there is nutrition derived, these things would be detrimental in large amounts, as already discussed).  Religious use of food would be like the wine and unleavened bread we take at Passover.  It’s a commanded religious observance.

The scriptures mention the good medicinal usage of drugs (Prov. 17:22; Ezek. 47:12; Rev. 22:2; Jer. 8:22, etc.).  Notice Ezekiel 47:12, mentioning both food and medicine (healing drug):

And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat [food], and the leaf thereof for medicine.

The scriptures also discuss the recreational and religious use of drugs, both the good and the bad.  The scriptures mention alcohol and its good and righteous enjoyment that it brings, being “merry of heart:”

A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things (Ecc. 10:19).

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works (Ecc. 9:7)

And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart (Psa. 194:15).

And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? (Judges 9:13)

The Word of God also reveals that being “merry of heart” can be a bad thing, that it can go too far, in other words:

And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light (I Sam. 25:36).

And likely in these:

Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon's heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant (2 Sam. 13:28).

On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king, To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.  But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him (Esther 1:10-12).

The common modern-day terminology for the feeling of light alcohol use is being or feeling or catching a “buzz.”  The overdoing of the same thing is called being drunk.  However, some use the term “drunk” for both the slight effect and the severe effect, no different than the writers of the OT books of the bible using “merry of heart” for both light and heavy use.

Jesus was accused of being both a glutton and a drunkard, because of his eating and drinking (Matt. 11:19; Luke 7:34).  We know that gluttony and drunkeness are both sin (food and drug abuse), and yet we know that the Jesus the Christ did no sin.  Those who think God condemns alcohol use have a terribly weak case.  Jesus could not have possibly become drunk from drinking something non-alcholic, and so no one would have accused him of such.  Jesus liked to socialize; he liked to have a good time of feasting and drinking with others.  It’s fun to have get-togethers like barbeques, have some food, wine or beer, and have some friendly fellowship.  Alcohol relaxes people, and they can have a good time together laughing and enjoying each other’s company.  No one has to get drunk.

Gluttony and drunkeness are put in the same pot.  Just as eating is not sin, using recreational drugs is not sin, either.  God commanded that some of the money to be saved back for his commanded feasts to be used however one desired, for the food and drink and other things of enjoyment:

And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household (Deut. 14:26).

Those who want to deny themselves such pleasure have that right, but we who wish to have a good time in righteousness should not let such people judge us (Col. 2:16).

For an in-depth study on what the bible says about alcohol, I highly recommend Keith Hunt’s debunking of another’s attempt to debunk biblical alcohol use.  It’s very thorough, and it can be found online:  http://www.keithhunt.com/Wine1.html.

Other drugged drinks are also popular.  The company Coca Cola is dubbed so for its main product, which in the beginning contained flavoring from the coca plant and the drug cocaine that naturally occurs in the same plant, and from the flavoring from the cola nut and the drug caffeine that naturally occurs in it.  Sadly, the drink is no longer allowed by current U.S. FDA law to contain the cocaine, but the coca flavoring is still in it.  The drink still contains caffeine, which is the world’s most popular psychoactive drug.

Ironically, the original Coca Cola would have been much more healthful, because back in that day the ingredients would have been much better and more natural.  I’m sure the small amount of natural cocaine that was in it was not health-damaging, unlike the GM high fructose corn syrup in there now to replace sugar (although some non-U.S. countries get to drink it with sugar!).

Coffee

Coffee may be the most popular drugged drink the world.  High in caffeine, it is also prone to being abused.  If one cannot use this substance in moderation, it should not be used at all.

Coca

I am not afraid of natural coca leaves and would gladly chew some to try them out, if I had them readily available, just as the South American natives do.  They chew the leaves for the same reasons people drink coffee, and coca leaves are rich in nutrients, too.     Concentrated cocaine in large amounts snorted up the nose is something entirely different, and worse is the smoked crack cocaine, which has undergone some processing.  I’m certainly not suggesting anyone go snort or smoke crack cocaine.

Cocaine-derived anesthetics are still used in medicine today, but all-natural cocaine in the natural herb would have you in heap of trouble with the almighty U.S. government (as they think of themselves, not I).

Cannabis

Whereas caffeine has killed quite a few people, and nicotine has killed many others, cannabis [aka “marijuana”] has killed no one in the past several thousand years, and yet the former two are “legal” under U.S. law and the latter is illegal.  Go figure.  Sounds like the U.S. government is a loving caretaker, eh?  The truth is, is that the U.S. government serves those who give them money.  They do not serve God and its people.  It’s not a loving government, as God’s is.  It’s a money-loving government.  Cannabis alone might save our economy and get us out of debt, but they want to sink us.  Cannabis is what helped our nation prosper for so long, but its days are gone.

Cannabis is a dioecious plant, meaning it has separate male and female plants.  The male plant is good for hemp, representative of male characteristics, since hemp is used for building materials and clothing and paper (men support their families).  The female plant is good for food and drugs, representing womanly qualities (nourisher and healer).  The seeds’ oil have a perfect Omega 3 to Omega 6 fatty acids ratio, and the seed makes a complete protein that is easily digestible, unlike soy. The seeds also contain all or nearly all of the  vitamins and minerals a human being needs to live.  The seeds and leaves have proven valuable during famine.  The buds of a female plant are covered in a resin rich with the cannabinoid drug THC, which has been an important medicine throughout history, as well as a valuable recreational and religious drug, usually in burned form.  The hemp oil, rich in THC, has cured cancer and numerous other ailments, just about anything a person can think of.

As an incense, it has been enjoyed for its fragrant smell and taste and for is psychoactive properties, which is useful in prayer and meditation, for making the heart merry while with friends; and for creativity, helping many writers, musicians, builders, inventors, and those of other arts and trades.

Cannabinoids are also endogenous in human beings and play an important part in various bodily functions.  The book Endocannabinoids: The Brain and Body’s Marijuana and Beyond discusses our “endocannabinoid physiological control system” and its relation to cell development and regulation, central nervous system function, immune system function, digestion, reproduction, and its function in both mental illness and neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer.

Health Benefits of Recreational Drugs

Coffee, tea, chocolate, wine, cannabis, and coca are all examples of drug-containing substances that people enjoy recreationally.  They are examples of wonderful gifts God gave to mankind.  Each one of these things, you will find if you research, provide extreme health benefits to its users, if used in moderation.  Each of these things can improve a person’s quality of life and lengthen his or her life.  They each are linked to better outcomes for their users when compared to nonusers, when used in moderation.  When abused, the exact opposite is true, namely that these same things can worsen a person’s quality of life and shorten the person’s lifespan.

Religious Use

Drugs have an important religious value, too.  They have been used for prayer and meditation for thousands of years in both the true worship of the Most High God and Satan-inspired, man-made religions.  Something both many others and I realize is that psychoactive drugs that put one into a meditative (deep thinking) state and also those that put one in a psychedelic state are affected by the mood and setting/environment.  I cannot personally attest to this concerning psychedelic drugs, as I’ve read about them but have never personally used them.  I’ve not judged yet whether there’s enough evidence of them even having a Godly use in the realm of recreation or religion (meaning, in this instance, the worship of the true God).  From what evidence I do have, it seems that God has only shown visions to his prophets without the use of psychedelic drugs.  In addition, I also read how one person observed that the vast majority of Buddhist monks he knew admitted to experiencing their first enlightened state of mind to while using psychedelic drugs.

So, from what I can tell at this point, psychedelics have only been used by pagans for religious use.

I can, however, personally attest to how set/mood and setting/environment affect a person under the influence of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in cannabis.  I’ve used cannabis for medicinal, recreational, and religious reasons many times, and only once have I had what I’d consider a bad experience.  The other two persons with whom I was talking started talking about how evil abortion was.  I started having horrific images in my mind, and I started to feel very vulnerable and deeply sad and even scared that I lived in such a world.  I started having feelings of paranoia.  I went away to be by myself and started praying.  The negative feelings soon diminished.

Drugs such as this have a tendency to amplify feelings.  They amplify the good things around you, and then they  amplify the bad.  This is why such drugs create a desire of peace and love in the world.  At the same time, though, if a person is not mentally healthy and thinks too much on the wicked things of the world, these drugs can contribute to or worsen depression.  The mood and well-being of the person when he or she uses these drugs and what’s currently going on around the person can make or break the person.

Incense

Incense means “to burn,” and many herbs and plant resins (from bark, flowers, etc.) have been burned over the millennia for their smells, tastes, and psychoactive properties.

Frankincense has long been a popular incense for prayer and meditation.  It’s mentioned several times in the scriptures.  Many enjoy the way it smells, as well as its psychoactive effect that puts one into a thoughtful mode.  The active drug in frankincense is incensole acetate.  It also has medicinal properties.

Just in the food category, where smoking and grilling things should be used with caution and moderation, incense use in the drug category should be treated with the same respect.  We were designed to withstand mild to moderate smoke inhalation on occasion and filter out the toxins, just as our digestive system copes with the toxins in our food.  However, we were not designed to take in unlimited amounts of smoke of any sort.  This is abuse.  I saw some articles a while back that linked burning frankincense to lung cancer.  At least one study claims that using incense on a regular, long-term basis at least doubles the risk and that incense burning is even more carcinogenic than cigarette smoke.

Which incense(s) was used in the study is not clear to me.

I read some articles discussing a study that linked children in the Catholic Church, who burned incense [frankincense] daily, to lung cancer.  We should take extra caution with children.  There are some things that children are not to do or at least not as much as adults, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, engaging in sexual reproduction, etc.  Perhaps the Catholic Church is abusing children in more ways than we realize.

The point is, smoked herbs and resins can lead to cancer, if abused.  Moderation is the key.

Most realize the lung cancer epidemic related to tobacco smoking.  Tobacco was the popular incense used by some of the natives on the North American continent, and it lives on to be popular among our people.  Perhaps tobacco is okay in moderation.  I have read many articles about various studies, including identical twin studies, and from what I can tell, non-inhaling tobacco pipe smokers live longer and have  less risk of several common diseases than non-smokers, but inhaling tobacco cigarette smokers have a shorter lifespan than non-smokers and a much higher risk of cancer, heart disease, respiratory illnesses, and other diseases.  More dangerous than tobacco itself are the numerous toxic chemicals in which most commercial tobacco is dipped.  Organic, additive-free tobacco should be used by those who make the decision to use tobacco, and inhaling is highly advised against.  The nicotine and any other drugs that are released will absorb through the lining of the mouth so that the drug effects can be felt.

Tobacco use also raises the risk of mouth cancer, though the risk is probably low among those smoking organic tobacco no more than up to three times daily and those who do not use chewing tobacco or snuff that is dipped in additives.  Non-organic tobacco is grown in radioactive soil and is sprayed with pesticides.  Those who smoke cannabis and tobacco have a lesser risk of cancer than those who smoke tobacco only.

One of the reasons for this may be because less tobacco is smoked.  It is also known that cannabis has cancer-killing antioxidants.  Another plausible reason, as I mention in my cannabis study, could be because cannabis protects against radiation.

Drug Dependency

Some drugs can cause physical addiction or dependence in some people.  Not everyone is vulnerable to such addiction.  For example, I’ve smoked tobacco less than ten times in my life, and I never became addicted.  Most tobacco users, though, are addicted and smoke entirely too much.  Some smoke only occasionally and usually do not suffer from any health problems.  Even more people are addicted to caffeine, but not everyone who consumes this drug has this problem.  I have never become addicted.  Some drink coffee and/or tea, cola or other caffeine-containing substances in moderation.

(As an added note here, cacao [from what chocolate is made] contains very little to no caffeine in its raw state.  It does contain an abundance of a similar chemical called theobromine, “food of the gods.”  Theobromine is the substance that is toxic to canines.  Some chocolate products have added caffeine.)

Whenever I start developing a dependence/addiction to sugar, which is probably the most addictive substance and the only one to which I’ve ever had any sort of addiction, I cut sweets (including fruit) for a few days.  The first two or three days are the worst, and I experience mild withdrawals of intense cravings of sugar.  After that I’m fine, and I can soon safely incorporate it back into my diet in moderation.  This should work for nearly anyone, with any substance (though some substances require a weaning), but some have such a hard time using certain substances in moderation.  In these cases, these persons should abstain from those things indefinitely, possibly for life.

Not all drugs are potentially physically addictive, but all drugs are potentially psychologically addictive.  Anything that kicks in the dopamine (a neurotransmitter) reward system can become psychologically addicting.  This doesn’t apply to just drugs, but also sex, gambling, exercise, television, Internet use, phone use, etc.

Sorcery

Throughout history we’ve had witch doctors and sorcerors.  Deliberate poisoning and misuse of various mind-altering (psychoactive) drugs falls under witchcraft/sorcery.  These witches/sorcerors have used dangerous and highly mind-altering drugs among the three big kingdoms--herbs (plants), minerals, and animals--to make contact with evil spirits (religious) and to further poison someone in need of healing (medicinal), for profit.

These practices still continue on today, and it’s not only in Africa and South America among the heathen tribes of the jungles.  In industrialized nations, it’s synthetic, manufactured drugs that are doing these things.

You think only heathen tribes and today’s psychedelic drug users go tripping off into another world?  I’ve had persons personally tell me about the crazy hallucinogenic effects some of their prescription drugs caused them.

Synthetic Manufactured Drugs

There are synthetic drugs manufactured in clean, professional laboratories, and then there are the ones manufactured in home or wilderness labs.  This is the difference between U.S. FDA-regulated pharmaceutical drugs and DEA-regulated “street” drugs.

One terribly horrific drug that is manufactured as a “street” drug is methamphetamine.  Not quite as fancy as the professional pharmaceutical laboratories, meth labs are kept in houses and wooded areas.  An array of deadly chemicals are used, and these labs are very unstable.  It’s not uncommon for there to be explosions, resulting in destroyed homes and sometimes injuries, and perhaps death.  Meth is classified as a Schedule II drug by the U.S. federal government, which means it is not considered as dangerous as Schedule I drugs and that it is considered to have at least some medical use.  This is quite appalling to me, because they apparently think that a justified medical use is to give it to hyperactive children.  Cannabis, a safe herb that helped make our nation great (until it was rendered illegal) and has many medicinal uses, is classified as a Schedule I drug!

People on meth stay awake for days at a time, they age quickly, their teeth rot out, and they can be dangerous.  They usually steal.  This is a drug that all should be concerned about.  I don’t see how there is any justification for manufacturing this substance, and certainly not for children!  How corrupt can a government get?

A large percentage of our population tries cannabis (“marijuana”) at some point in their lives, often in the adolescent years.  When the government spouts lies about it, which these persons clearly find for themselves are lies, some are led to believe that since the government lied about it, it must also be lying about meth and crack cocaine and heroin.  This is devastating, because these drugs really are dangerous and harmful, but by the government’s own classifications they are made out to be less harmful, less addictive, and more medicinally helpful.  This is outrageous!

I’ve known some persons who have used meth.  From what I understand, it’s nearly impossible to get off of it and stay off of it.  I’ve seen people’s health quickly deteriorate and their teeth start rotting, and  I’ve even heard about some of them seeing demons.

Pharmaceuticals

Then there’s the pharmaceutical drugs.  Pharmaceutical is derived from the Greek word pharmakos meaning “poison, sorcery.”  This goes back to the fact that drugs can be used to heal or to destroy, just as food can nourish or sicken.  Pharmaceutical drugs used to be made with minerals or plants, and the medicines were made to heal and to safely treat symptoms, on a greater scale in our more Godly nations (for plant poisons are still used on a great scale to poison those in the poorer heathen nations).  Now the big pharmaceutical companies don’t much care about healing or safely treating.  They care about making money.  The more drugs they can create and the more they sell, the more money they make.  Cha-ching!  They now manufacture their own drugs and obtain patents.  Patents means they can put their name on it, and only they can sell it.

Pharma scientists are chemists who isolate certain drugs from plants, minerals and animals, and then they synthesize their own copy of it.  Drugs in their natural form, the way God manufactured them, are always safer than synthetic, isolated copies.

Just as getting one’s nutrition through whole foods is always better and safer, because all the various vitamins, minerals, enzymes, etc. are in the right ratios (if grown the way God intended), so is getting one’s medicinal healing through whole plant medicine always better and safer, for the exact same reason.  There are more chemicals in a plant than the active ingredient that pharmaceutical lab scientists isolate before making a synthetic version.  So, in manufactured pharmaceutical drugs, we have two problems right from the start:  the drug is isolated and so is not going to work as designed without the other ingredients/chemicals/drugs that were in the plant, and the fact that the drug they sell is a synthetic version which doesn’t work quite as well in our bodies and is often very toxic.

I won’t go into deep detail here, but there are definitely books out there, written by those who have thoroughly researched this topic.  I  highly recommend you do more self-education for a better understanding.

Synthetic drugs are also more addictive, more likely to cause a dependency.  They are also more likely to cause a severe reaction.  The people of the USA have a drug problem, and besides tobacco, caffeine, alcohol, and cannabis, almost overwhelmingly, abuse and dependence problems are due to legal pharmaceutical drugs.  Pharmaceutical drugs are also responsible for high numbers of deaths in the U.S., though it is difficult to determine just how high, since this sort of death is often hidden, covered up, with some fancy language or with the pre-existing condition the drugs were supposedly treating.

I’ve used synthetic drugs twice in the the last seven years, one eythromycin antibiotic pill nearly seven years ago and one Benedryl capsule nearly five years ago, as an emergency.  In the first case, I went to the doctor with a problem a few days after my first son was born (born at home).  The doctor told me I needed to take an antibiotic, because I was at risk of infection.  Well, I knew that I did not have an infection and didn’t feel as if I was at serious risk.  I also was nursing my infant son.  I argued with the doctor and told him that I didn’t need it and that I was nursing, anyway.  Both he and a nurse kept pushing me to take the antibiotic, for which they gave me a prescription to get filled at the pharmacy for more of the pills.  I should have just walked out, but I foolishly took the thing with the intention of shutting them up and not getting my prescription filled.

A few hours later my husband was driving ninety miles an hour to get me to the emergency room, having left our infant son in care of my parents.  I experienced a severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock) to the antibiotic that I never needed in the first place.  I was given masses doses of Benedryl (antihistamine), as well as corticosteroids, and epinhephrine (adrenaline).  These drugs did me long-term harm and made my hair fall out in such an amount that I had two bad bald spots in the front of my head (caused by the steroids).

Another medical disaster occurred less than two and half years later.  My second born son went into cardiac arrest as an infant, and he was air-lifted from our house to the hospital.  He was then air-lifted from that hospital to a children’s hospital.  In flight, he was given a massive overdose of antibiotics.  Firstly, it’s foolish to give antibiotics to someone who does not have a bacterial infection (and it was confirmed later that he did not).  To do it “just in case” is foolish, because unless there’s great suspicion, it should not be done.  We on this planet have a major problem now with antibiotic-resistant bacteria, mainly due to this issue.  My son was resuscitated much too late, anyway, so that he was not ever able to breathe on his own, but that is not the point.  The antibiotic (vancomycin) he was given, if overdosed, carried with it the high risk of deafness, kidney damage, and possibly other problems.

Another incident occurred when my husband had a staph infection over two and a half years ago, from the time I write this.  After attempting to treat it ourselves, we decided to go to a doctor.  What a foolish doctor we saw, for he wrote out a prescription for amoxycillin.  It was hard to read his writing, but as I studied it in the vehicle, as my husband drove, I said aloud to my husband that I thought it said amoxycillin, which was insanely stupid, in my opinion.

I’m not even a licensed physician, and I had enough sense to know that highly drug-resistant staph (MRSA) would not respond to amoxycillin.  My husband just wanted to get the prescription filled and go home, so we did, and the infection only got worse.  The doctor had said to us that my husband could easily “be dead by morning” (the staph infection had entered a wound on his face, and it was moving toward his brain).  Thankfully the quack’s prediction didn’t turn out to be true.  I talked my husband into letting me take him to the ER the next day, where they treated him with an IV of strong antibiotics and then did so again the next day.  This had bad long-term consequences, but it was life-saving.

Our household has had five medical issues in the past seven years that involved pharmaceutical drugs.  Four of them involved drug accidents or drug errors.  Four out of five.  I wonder how increased that would be if we were like the typical American household, visiting the doctor frequently and frequently taking pharmaceutical drugs.

I hear about drug errors and many other iatrogenic (doctor-caused) catastrophies all the time.  I’ve heard stories from family members, friends, and others.  This is so commonplace, and yet many people still depend heavily on the modern medical model, rather than use preventive care and seek out natural healing.

Modern hospitals with the highly-advanced diagnostic and life-saving equipment, highly-skilled physicians and nurses, and life-saving drugs are a wonderful blessing when they are truly needed for sincere emergencies:  broken bones, major blood loss, burns and other trauma, poisonings or severe infections,  true childbirth emergency, etc.  However, they are the last place one needs to be for the average illness, normal childbirth, cancer, etc.

Perhaps if everyone started taking care of themselves in a responsible manner through good health habits and preventive measures and stopped flooding doctors’ offices and hospitals with every hiccup, itch, and pain they experienced, there would be a drastic decrease in the number of errors made.

Modes of Drug-Taking

There are many ways to use drugs.  They can be ingested whole (or made into a tea) through the mouth and into the gut through normal digestion, they can be made into a tincture held under the tongue before swallowing for quick absorption into the bloodstream, inhaled via smoke or vapor, rubbed into the skin with a carrier oil (ointment), made into eyedrops to drop into the eyes, put into the ears, injected with needles subdermally (into skin, acupuncture) or intramuscularly (into muscles) or intravenously (into blood vessels), and more.

Some of these methods are obviously more invasive than others and so should only be limited to extreme medicinal purposes (such as injecting needles more than skin deep or inserting something rectally).  It’s common knowledge that some recreational drug users do inject drugs via needle.  These are usually drugs that should not be taken recreationally, and the users have abused themselves by doing this.

War on Drugs

The so-called war on drugs is flawed, since the drugs that are causing the most problems are the ones that are legal by the occupying government:  alcohol, nicotine (from tobacco), caffeine, and over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription drugs.  I don’t support outlawing these drugs, but I say this to make a point.  The war on drugs makes the drug problems worse and leads to worse drugs, as well as black markets, violence, and government corruption.  If people would learn from history (and as a whole, people do not), we would know better than to wage some foolish “war on drugs,” seeing as how the abolition of alcohol promoted evil, and this is just one example in history.  There are many good sources of information out there that shed more light on this.  I’ll include some in the back of this book.

Hormones, Minerals, and Others

As already mentioned, drugs come in a variety of chemicals.  Our body makes its own array of various drugs:  appetite stimulants, sleep inducers, pain-killers, anti-depressents, muscle relaxants,  vasodilaters,  heart stimulants, and so own.  Sometimes our body needs help.  Usually medicinal additions should be used for short terms.  In the case of necessary surgical removal of organs or damaged organs that aren’t functioning at their peak, as two examples, hormone replacement, enzymes, or other drugs are often needed.  Such organ removal and similar procedures are done far too often, but there are times when these things are needed.  It’s a blessing that we live in a time of knowledge and technology so that people’s lives can be saved, and then they can go on to live fairly normal lives.  Hormones are derived sometimes from plants, sometimes from animals.

In the case of such things as anti-depressants and sleep aids, one must be careful in their choosing of such drugs.  They sometimes mess with the mind in such a way that they have amnesia or even murder their loved ones.  Much more common are the thoughts and desires to murder others, before they realize it’s the drug, and they stop.

Also, if taken too long, these drugs will cause a physical dependency, and so in the case of anti-depressants, discontinuing them will cause a short time of deep depression (usually making it necessary for the person to be in a pleasant environment and not left alone); and in the case of sleep-aids, discontinuing them will cause a short time of not being able to sleep.  What happens is that the chemicals in these drugs that mimic our bodies’ own endogenous chemicals are replacing our bodies’ production of them.   After a short time, though, the body will get lined out and start reproducing these hormones (with the exception of cases where damaged or missing organs are involved).

This dependency is the same thing that happens with nicotine, caffeine, and other drugs that are known for physical dependency.  They help medicate people by balancing their neurotransmitter imbalance, but then the drugs are abused, causing the body to produce even less of its own chemicals, so when a person tries to quit, they have withdrawal symptoms, because their body is signaling to their minds that they do indeed need those chemicals.  If their minds can last through the withdrawal period, their bodies will then line things out itself.  Sometimes people do need supplemental help with drugs, but they need only take what is necessary to work with the body’s own chemicals.

Minerals also act as drugs, and so they can poison us if we do not use them wisely.  Such an example is a popular natural medicinal remedy called colloidal silver.  This can kill deady bacteria, but it can also cause silver poisoning, indicated by blue-grayish skin tone.  I can attest that it works greatly for some things, when it’s needed for an acute medical matter.  However, some take it as a daily “preventative” supplement, which I believe is erroneous and unwise.  This is just one example.

Whether one is using a drug medicinally, recreationally, or religiously, he or she must be wise in choosing which drugs to use and how to use them.  Overdosing, long-term abusing, using drugs in the wrong settings, and doing things that require one to be sober while under the influence of certain drugs are all examples of ways in which a person can misuse drugs.

Healing, harmless fun, and healthy worship of the true God are the proper ways in which to use drugs.  Knowingly poisoning others to make a profit and/or deceive the victims and/or render them helpless, overdoing the “fun,” and conjuring up demons or inviting them in are improper ways to use drugs.  This is the sin of sorcery.

Whenever someone has a health issue, an evaluation of one’s diet and making necessary changes should always come before deciding to take a drug for long-term, perhaps lifetime.  A drug to help the symptoms for short-term, while the person lines out his or her diet, can be helpful, but most medicinal drugs should only be taken long-term when all that can be done diet-wise has been done, yet the person still needs the help of the drug.

The symptoms that we have are signals that something is wrong.  It makes sense, then, that we find out what is wrong and correct the problem.  When a person goes to an allopathic doctor and describes symptoms, an allopathic doctor usually diagnoses the person with something and then prescribes a drug to treat the symptoms.  Ah!  That does the trick, right?  This is the huge mistake most people make.  They think that’s it.  They get a drug, take it, and they no longer  have to suffer with the symptoms.  God made our bodies so that when something goes wrong, we get signals--signs and symptoms--that something needs to be corrected!  But, such is the carnal nature of people, that they’d rather just take drugs to treat the symptoms so that they can ignore the the discomforts and continue doing whatever they’ve been doing wrong.  They have no interest in determining the root of the problem and doing something to correct it.

If my smoke alarm starts beeping, it signals one of two problems.  Either the batteries are low, or there is a fire in my house.  Now, I could just take the batteries out and go on with my business.  This is analagous to a person taking a drug to treat symptoms without determining the root of the problem in order to correct the problem. Well, I would no longer have to listen to the annoying sound of the alarm, but I didn’t diagnose the problem.

If my batteries are low, I need to replace them, in case I have a fire in the future.  If I have a fire in my house, I need to get out!  Such is the folly of people taking drugs to treat their symptoms without ever taking steps to correct the root of the problem, namely what’s causing the signs and symptoms in the first place.  It’s fine to take the drugs to treat the symptoms, but in the meantime, one needs to find the root of the problem and fix it, if possible.  It’s almost always possible to either totally fix the problem or to at least greatly improve it, which in the former case, allows the person to stop taking the drug altogether, and in the latter case, allows the person to take less of the drug.

Vaccines

There is a plethora of information on the topic of vaccines, and so this really requires extra study on the part of the reader.  However, I want to briefly touch on this topic.  If a person believes he or she is a temple for the Holy Spirit and that he or she should be careful not to defile it, then that person should steer clear of these vaccines.  Sometimes deceptively called “immunizations,” these are abominable mixes of defiling toxins.

Some vaccines entail animal cruelty, others simply the killing of animals.  While the latter could be defended, the former cannot.  Many vaccines contain substances from unclean animals and the blood from both clean and unclean animals.  At least one vaccine was made by culturing the viruses on organ tissue from aborted babies.  Nearly all vaccines include toxic preservatives, such as mercury, aluminum, and formaldehyde.  Then there’s the virus(es) itself.

All these things break the law of God.  Those who live according to God’s way try to prevent illness by following good health and hygiene guidelines and staying isolated from others when sick with a communicable disease.    Deliberately injecting pathogens into the body directly violate this.  It is true that our immune system is designed to create antibodies to a foreign pathogen so that when it comes into contact with it at a later time, it can effectively fight it off.  This is the third line of defense, though.

The first line is to practice good dietary, labor and rest, and hygiene guidelines.  The second is to stay away from those you know who are sick (if they inconsiderately refuse to isolate themselves).  Then the third line of defense is that God made your immune system to fight off invaders.  If one is healthy, a person’s immune system will often fight something off before a person even has symptoms.  If the person succumbs, however, then a person needs to isolate oneself and treat the illness in the proper manner, which varies with each illness.

Should those of us who live in the country get small injections of snake venom so as to be ready in case we get bitten by a snake while out and about?  Is it worth it to deliberately put extremely harmful poisons in our bodies, when the likelihood of being killed by a snakebite is relatively low, if you follow the proper lines of defense:  proper clothing in wooded areas, careful watching, slow moving away from a sighted snake and not provoking it, and (the last line of defense) seeking medical attention if one is actually bitten?

Vaccines are nasty and only cause more health problems.  It’s always been ironic to me, too, that those who push so much for vaccines complain about non-vaccinated children being around those who are, because they are supposedly endangering those who are vaccinated.  The thing that surprises me even more, though, is that most people hear that and will blindly agree, totally oblivious to what should be obvious.  If vaccines work so well, then why should they be concerned for the vaccinated children?  Should it not be the non-vaccinated children for whom they should have concern?  Non-vaccinated children whose parents are keeping them in good health with whole foods, good hygiene, rest, and exercise are naturally more healthy than vaccinated children.

The fact of the matter is that vaccines are not linked in any way to better health.  There are things out there that deceive people into believing so, but if one studies carefully, they will discover that improved diet and hygiene are the real reasons for better health.  As people are receiving more and more vaccines, our health in this nation is still only declining.

Making vaccines is a good business, though.  The pharmaceutical companies keep dreaming up new vaccines with which they can pollute people so that they can cash in big.  Concerning the changes in vaccine schedules:

In 1900, the smallpox vaccine was the only one administered to children. By the 1960s, children routinely received five vaccines, for protection against (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, and smallpox), and as many as eight shots by two years of age. As of 2007, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now recommends vaccination against at least sixteen diseases. By two years of age, U.S. children receive as many as 24 vaccine injections, and might receive up to five shots during one visit to the doctor.

And it continues to increase.  Vaccines claim the lives of more than those in power want to admit, and those who live are left with life-long health issues, to what extent, we’re not sure, since vaccines are not the only wrong thing we’re doing to ourselves.  I’m thankful that I asked questions at an early age, and so none of my children have been vaccinated.

Cancer Therapies

Chemotheraphy, radiation, and surgery are popular allopathic treatments for cancer.  There is big money to be had by those who give these murderous treatments.  Here’s yet one more big deception that falls over the eyes of the masses.  They are sheep being led to the slaughter.  I personally have heard too many stories of those with cancer being rushed to their death while going through an agonizing cancer “treatment.”  A treatment it is, but what they dont’ tell you is that it is mistreatment, cruel treatment.  When they say “treatment,” it falsely leads people to believe it’s a therapeutic, healing treatment.

Radiation

There are many different rays.  Some radiation is beneficial in small amounts.  Think of the sun’s radiation.  A small amount is needful.  Getting enough sun prevents cancer.  Getting entirely too much sun, especially if one’s diet is not what it should be, can cause cancer.

The amount of radiation they give to those afflicted with cancerous tumors kills everything.  It may indeed be killing the mutated cancer cells, but it’s killing a person’s good cells, which are the only real hope of survival.  It’s akin to conventional farmers spraying poisons on the crops to kill bugs, but the poisons are killing God’s natural defense, namely the birds and beneficial insects.  Therefore, radiation does far more harm than it does good.  There is overwhelming evidence that radiation treatment kills a person with cancer more quickly than a person that does not receive it.  I’ve not only read this in medical documents and statistical evidence, but I’ve talked to real people who say they know that their loved ones quickly went downhill shortly after the radiation.  A common them is that the person gets the radiation, and then the cancer spreads.

The radioactivity used to kill cancer cells can cause normal cells to mutate, creating new cancer cells of other types.  A number of studies have found that people who undergo radiation therapy are actually more likely to have their cancers spread to other sites in their bodies.  Early studies at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center actually found that patients who received radiotherapy died sooner than those left untreated.

The radiation also usually makes the person weak and sickly.  The only exceptions where radiation has shown to be very useful in curing cancer is “early Hodgkin’s disease, lymphosarcoma, inoperable prostate cancer, and localized tumors of the head, neck, larynx, and cervix.”

Although, I must say, I would not want any radiation near my head.

  As for breast cancer:

Dr. Gofman’s work led to his 1995 book Preventing Breast Cancer, in which he came to a stunning conclusion:  “Our estimate is that about three-quarters of the current annual incidence of breast cancer in the United States is being caused by earlier ionizing radiation, primarily from medical sources.”  John Gofman does not underestimate the role in cancer causation played by pesticides, hormone pills, fatty diets, and other environmental stressors.

Isn’t it odd, then, how annual mammograms are recommended for women?  Mammograms themselves use radiation to get a picture of the breast.  Should not something like this be used only when there’s a strong suspicion of cancer?  Something like this should not be done as a routine screening.

Chemotherapy

From Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia:

The first use of drugs to treat cancer, however, was in the early 20th century, although it was not originally intended for that purpose. Mustard gas was used as a chemical warfare agent during World War I and was studied further during World War II. During a military operation in World War II, a group of people were accidentally exposed to mustard gas and were later found to have very low white blood cell counts. It was reasoned that an agent that damaged the rapidly-growing white blood cells might have a similar effect on cancer. Therefore, in the 1940s, several patients with advanced lymphomas (cancers of certain white blood cells) were given the drug by vein, rather than by breathing the irritating gas. Their improvement, although temporary, was remarkable. That experience led researchers to look for other substances that might have similar effects against cancer. As a result, many other drugs have been developed to treat cancer, and drug development since then has exploded into a multibillion-dollar industry, although the principles and limitations of chemotherapy discovered by the early researchers still apply.

[C]hemotherapy acts by killing cells that divide rapidly, one of the main properties of most cancer cells. This means that it also harms cells that divide rapidly under normal circumstances: cells in the bone marrow, digestive tract and hair follicles; this results in the most common side effects of chemotherapy—myelosuppression (decreased production of blood cells), mucositis (inflammation of the lining of the digestive tract) and alopecia (hair loss).

In other words, the same type of weapon that one uses in biological warfare to deliberately kill other human beings is used to treat cancer patients, or I rather should say mistreat them.  It’s interesting that I’ve read time and again that those who work in giving chemotherapy, when they get cancer, usually (maybe always) reject chemotherapy as a treatment.  It’s a bit twisted that anyone would do something to another human being that he would not want done to himself.  Of course, it’s all in the name of profit.  It’s no different with other similar things, such as the many doctors refusing vaccines for their own children, though they give them to other children.  Hey, in this world, money rules and is more important than fellow human beings.

Those who administer cytotoxic drugs to cancer patients go to great lengths in protecting their skin from the substance they inject into the patients’ veins.  Cancer chemotherapy drugs have spilled onto skin before and created terrible burns.  It should make one wonder what all it is doing inside the cancer-afflicted soul’s body.   Do we really need to launch toxic warfare in order to heal a person?  Does that really make sense at all?

I agree that chemotherapy should be used for cancer.  But the chemotherapy that the cancer patient needs is good wholesome chemicals from fresh cancer-fighting juices and cancer-fighting herbs.  The person needs radiation, too.  Ample time spent in the sunshine does a body good.

Surgery

I want to talk about surgery for cancer, but also surgery in general.  Sometimes surgery is useful in removing cancerous tumors.  However, when surgically removing a tumor, it’s common for some of those cells to float away into the bloodstream and then start a tumor elsewhere.  So, surgery, too, like both radiation and chemotherapy, can cause the spread of cancer.  In the cases where surgery is necessary, it’s vital that the person is fighting the cancer through fasting and/or fresh juices of cancer-fighting fruits and vegetables and herbal teas.  Of course, even when surgery is not performed, the person needs to be doing this, paired with prayer.  The body was made in a wonderful way, designed to repair itself, but only if you give it what it needs to do this.

Surgery for cancer may not be as common as the other two popular “War on Cancer” methods, but surgery, nevertheless, is very popular.  Surgery can be lifesaving, and it’s nice to have highly-skilled surgeons who can save lives or even reconstruct a damaged body.

The downside is that there is entirely too much surgery done.  Most surgery is totally unecessary, and it always comes with a risk.  When a person has an emergency, the risk of surgery doesn’t seem like such a risk, but when the person is perfectly healthy, surgery should be carefully questioned.

Some common surgeries that are usually not necessary are tonsillectomies, hysterectomies, and cesarean sections.  There are cases in which these surgeries are needed, but in the vast majority of cases, the person would have been better off without them.  Nearly one-third of “births” in the U.S. now end in a major abdominal surgery, the cesarean section.  This comes with all sorts of risks for both mother and child.  It is not the way God meant for babies to be born into the world.  Successful cesarean surgery is a modern miracle, there is no doubt, but it should be used when miracles are needed.  Life-saving miracles are not truly needed in one out of every three births!  There are a lot of reasons why this is done, and it’s not in the scope of this book to discuss it in length.  There are those who have done good research on this topic, and they’ve written fine books.  Find some, and read them.

Likewise, most hysterectomies are not truly needed.  If a woman is having certain problems, it’s usually do to lifestyle habits that need to be changed.  There are better alternatives.  Tonsillectomies are done for every little childhood snore, it seems.  Sometimes it is truly needed, but usually there are safe alternatives to shrink the tonsils, and the child safely grows out of his or her problems.

Elective cosmetic surgery for such things as breast implants are drastic measures in order to improve physical image.  It’s one thing to correct an injury or major defect, but to simply boost “sex appeal,” is rather foolish.  It does come with risks, including long-term health risks for such things as breast implants.  Besides, who really wants to caress or nurse from fake breasts or kiss fake lips?

Even heart surgeries and other invasive operations should be carefully considered, because oftentimes they do more harm in the long-run than good.

Male infant circumcision is another common surgery that is not necessary and does more harm than good.  First, the routine circumcision that takes place in U.S. hospitals is quite different than that commanded under the old covenant of God’s law.  The latter required that the foreskin be snipped off.  This means pulling the foreskin forward and snipping what goes beyond the head of the penis.  The modern circumcision goes further and can really only be described as mutilation.  The entire sheath is separated from the glans, and this affects important functions of this male sexual organ that affect both the male and his wife.  This is an added tradition of man and not a commandment of God.  For the important history concerning this and more information, visit http://www.cirp.org/library/history/peron2/ and http://www.cirp.org/pages/anat/.

Modern medical circumcisision also does not occur on the eighth day as was instructed by God.  Circumcision is a matter of choice under the new covenant, and if one so desires to circumcise their sons, to do so in accordance with God’s way is to snip off the end of the foreskin on the eight day and to not cruelly rip the entire foreskin away from the glans to which it is adhered.

Other medical practices should be carefully considered as well.  Such examples are x-rays and ultrasound.  Both are fascinating technologies that have good uses, but they are overused.  X-rays, of course, emit radiation, and so they should be used sparingly.  Ultrasound technology is used for many things, but two very common uses are for pregnancies: sonagram pictures and fetal hearbeat.  Though there are some good reasons why ultrasound should be used in some pregnancies, most pregnancies should not involve ultrasound at all.

Some trust ultrasound safety more than I.  As tempting as it sometimes was, I chose never to get an ultrasound to see the sex of my babies.  Of all five of my pregnancies, only the first involved ultrasound, around ten weeks gestation, and the baby died shortly thereafter.  If I ever had any bright red vaginal bleeding during late pregnancy, severe cramping, or other startling signs or symptoms, I would not hestitate to get an ultrasound.  The rule concerning anything like this is to weigh the risks.  In a case where something is likely wrong, the risk of getting an ultrasound is pale in comparision to not getting one in order to identify the problem.  I have links to information regarding studies on ultrasound on the following website page:  http://www.endtimecog.net/naturalchristianparent.html.

Bodily Hygiene and Health

Loving ourselves and others as ourselves includes keeping good bodily hygiene, clean and healthful clothing and bedding, clean houses, proper sewage disposal, and sick isolation when ill with a communicable disease.

Bathing

Under the old covenant, there were carnal ordinances for a carnal-minded people with God’s Spirit.  So, we find that the instructions for bathing go a little overboard, and to this day we still have those who are overly obsesses with the physical letter of the law with along with the old covenant system of carnal ordinances, including repetitive ritual baptisms to stay clean.   For more understanding on the carnal ordinances of the old covenant, including circumcision, baptisms, and tassels, read my study found here:  http://www.endtimecog.net/articles/carnalcovenant.html.

However, bathing is a regular ritual among those who follow the law of God in spirit.  For religious reasons, only one full-body baptism is required, before one received the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands.  After one receives that Spirit begettal from our Father God, there is no more need of a repetitive religious symbolic cleansing, because the Spirit is what truly cleanses.

Similar to how food and drugs have three categories, though, so does bathing.  In addition to religious bathing, there is both hygienic and recreational bathing.  To keep clean and healthy, one must engage in regular hygienic bathing.  In some places of the world, at some times in history, hygienic and recreational bathing were combined, and those of the same sex went to the river in their bathing suits and washed, swam, and splashed together.  Today, we live in such a sadly polluted world, that getting clean in our rivers is laughable, and one actually requires a real bath after recreationally swimming in them!

I’m hoping that most who read this know the basics of good hygiene, but for those who don’t, the information is easily accessed.  Hands should be washed after certain activities and before others, to wash away both grime and pathogens.  Most of the time, each person requires a daily full-body bath, and this makes the most sense to do in the evening.  Once engaging in something dirty, one and his or her clothes are usually, indeed, “unclean until evening,” to borrow an oft-repeated phrase in the law of Moses.  Remember also that a day truthfully begins in the evening, and so a person begins the day by washing and preparing for bed to rest from the previous day’s physical and mental exertions.  The level of washing will differ for each person and each day.  Some must wash the hair with a shampoo daily, others every other day, and still others less.  Some parts of one person’s body only needs cleansing with plain water most days, while others need a serious scrubbing after working in filthy conditions.  Mature individuals should be able to judge how to properly keep themselves clean, and they should teach their children also.

Dental hygiene may be as simple as eating an apple and using a toothpick among those with the best diet.  Others may need to brush and floss once a day, while still others need to brush two or three times a day.  It’s best to use a fluoride-free toothpaste and soft- or medium-bristled toothbrush.

Finger- and toenails also need to be trimmed, cl cleaned, and filed on a regular basis.  Shaving hair is done by some.  In any case, hair should be kept clean and neat.  Eyes, noses, ears, and belly buttons should not be neglected, either.  Our whole bodies need to be kept clean and neat.

Women’s Bleeding

All bleeding is a hygienic health issue.  Wounds need to be cleaned and treated appropriately, and anything with which blood comes into contact needs to be washed or disposed.

A woman of childbearing age who is not pregnant or nursing normally has a monthly flow of blood that lasts several days, namely menstruation.  Women who have given birth will bleed afterward for several weeks.  Women also have a period of bleeding after a miscarriage.  Special hygienic care is necessary.  The law of Moses gave very specific instructions, and for the most part, they are what should be followed.  They line up, in the most part, very closely with current doctor recommendations.

Menstruation

The instructions regarding menstruation are found in Leviticus 15:19-28.  A woman is to refrain from sexual relations for seven days, from the start of her bleeding, and longer if she bleeds longer than seven days.  Blood is a carrier of infectious organisms, and so if either the husband or wife has an sexually-transmitted disease, the likelihood of passing it drastically increases during this time.  Usually, in a faithful marriage, neither have such a disease, though there are special exceptions.  Still, blood is a great medium for pathogens, and the woman is also at a vulnerable stage in her cycle.  In addition, menstruation works as another outlet for toxins:

Our bodies have several methods of waste disposal. These include urination, defecation, perspiration, and respiration. Seldom mentioned as an elimination process is the monthly cleansing of menstruation.

The uterine tissue that is excreted during menstruation carries toxins with it as it leaves the body. These toxins are released from the tissues of the body by elevated estrogen hormone levels that precede the menstrual period.

Estrogen causes tissues to accumulate fluid, providing the necessary water and pressure for a tissue wash. As the estrogen level drops, the tissues release the extra fluid along with toxins.

The toxins course throughout the bloodstream and become stored in the lining of the uterus. Soon thereafter, the hormone levels change again and uterus sloughs its lining, along with the toxins it contains.

Menstruation, then, provides a monthly cleansing of the body.

Now, most decent folks I know do not willfully engage in sexual relations during menstruation.  Through many conversations I’ve had, I have found that most clean people, male and female alike, are repulsed by the thought of doing such.  I have found, for the most part, that the ones who willfully engage in this act are the unclean in our society, those who do not practice good hygiene, good diet, and good housecleaning.  These are typically the same sort who spew forth profane language and engage in other sexually immoral acts, as well as party and abuse drugs.  Whereas the statutes in the law of Moses are very carnal, forbidding anyone to even touch a woman or be in the same bed with her during her menstrual flow, those who walk in the spirit of the law should know how to keep a good balance.  In the modern Western world, it’s not hard to practice good menstrual hygiene.  In ancient Israel, in Moses’ time, women would sit on rags, as one can read about Rachel doing in Genesis 31:35, or so she at least claimed.  Cleanliness wasn’t as easy to obtain. It’s important for a woman to stay clean during her time of bleeding by keeping clean and frequently changing her pads or other mode of catching blood flow and disposing of them or washing them properly, depending on whether one chooses reusable or disposable modes.  An old towel or sheet can be used to sleep on in bed to protect bedding from accidental leakage, and anything on which blood gets should be washed.  This is all good sense and has nothing to do with some sort of “ceremonial” thing that has been “done away.”  Certainly some aspects of what is written in the law of Moses concerning menstruation is carnal, but refraining from sexual relations and keeping one’s body, clothing, bedding, and other things clean is still a requirement.

Miscarriage and other reasons for bleeding, besides after childbirth, also falls within the scripture verses I gave.  For as long as you bleed and go through the post-bleeding natural cleansing, you must refrain from sexual relations.  For those women who have given in to the marketing campaigns for “douching” after bleeding episodes, you are falling for a money-making scheme.  God designed the woman with a natural way of cleansing immediately following the end of bleeding.  Doing anything else can seriously disrupt the vagina’s natural pH balance, and so it should be avoided.

Postpartum Bleeding

The scriptures talk about bleeding after childbirth in Leviticus 12:2-5.  It’s recommended today by midwives and obstetricians that a woman refrain from sex and strenuous activity for six weeks, which translates to 42 days, if followed precisely.  The law of Moses commanded a woman to rest with her baby for seven days with a boy child, have him circumcised on the eighth day, and then to continue in her blood purification for another 33 days, which totals 40 days in all.  This is the average time a woman bleeds in her postpartum period.

The scriptures dictate fourteen days for a girl child and then another 66 days, for a total of 80 days.  While most women do not bleed for a full eighty days, and many women do not even notice a significant difference in bleeding between sexes of their babies, I personally did go significantly longer--nearly two weeks--after my female child than I did my three boys, beyond 50 days.  I saw one study, though I cannot find it now, that also showed a significant difference among the women in the study, with the postpartum bleeding lasting longer after female children, though it was nowhere near 80 days.  However, I conducted my own survey and did not find a significant difference.

The hormones and their levels involved postpartum do differ between male and female babies, and women do usually feel an innate need to bond more deeply with a daughter, since she will be training her daughters for the same jobs she posseses.  However, the most likely reason for these differences in the lengths of time are due to the circumcision of the boy on the eighth day and the physical significance of the differences between the two sexes in society.  As far as actual bleeding and bodily recovery is concerned, there is often no significant overall difference between the two sexes.  One must be led by the Spirit to determine when one is well enough to resume sexual relations after 40 days, which may be forty days, or it may be 100 days.

For a summary of the instructions regarding bleeding, see Leviticus 15:31-33.

Semen

Semen is another bodily fluid that should be treated much like blood.  The scriptures discuss health regulations concerning this substance in Leviticus 15:2-13, 16-18.  It needs to be cleaned up after it has been discharged.  Both man and woman should clean themselves after sex, as good hygiene would normally dictate, and most clean people have the natural inclination to do just this.  If semen gets on clothing or bedding, it needs to be washed.  This all makes good sense to the average clean person who practices good hygiene and keeps their clothing and bedding clean.

Clothing

It’s important to wear clean clothes.  Depending on a person’s activities for the day, his or her clothes may or may not be worthy of being worn again before washing.  Certainly most people with a clean mindset are good judges of whether their clothing needs to be washed and how it needs to be washed.  As far as underpants and socks go, they should always be washed daily, or to be more specific, they should only be worn one day before washing.

There can be items with certain stains, if cleaned well enough, can be deemed clean to reuse.  Such things as mildew often render the clothing ruined, and in these cases it should be destroyed.  A person can attempt a strong cleaning first, and if it doesn’t show to be active and spread after a week’s time, it is safe to keep, though one may be left with a stain (Lev. 13:47-59).

Leviticus 19:19 and Deut. 22:11 teach that we should not mix certain various fibers together, as linen and woolen together.  Whether only linen and wool or any mix of plant and animal is not crystal clear in the law of Moses.  The former verse says diverse fibers, and the latter says wool and linen.  Ezekiel 44:17-18 talks about the priests of God only wearing linen and not a linen and wool mix, to prevent sweat.  Whereas this would keep the priests holy and clean during their temple work, there is also scientific evidence why this statute is for our good. Charles Whitlaw, student of Carl Linnaeus, wrote:

However trifling it may appear in the eyes of those who are ignorant of the subject arid who treat it in such a cavalier manner it is quite at variance with the humanity of the law. Wool when combined with linen increases its power of passing off the electricity from the body; in hot climates it brings on malignant fevers and exhausts the strength aud when passing off from the body it meets with the heated air inflames and excoriates like a blister. When electricity is absent from the air, both vegetables and animals suffer exceedingly, as the air is powerfully saturated with sulphuretted hydrogen, hence malignant fevers and pestilential disorders prevail; when the thunder and lightning comes, the excess of hydrogen is consumed, and the electrical principles so necessary to the support of life are restored.

It’s true that we all have an electrical system, and that brings me to the last thing I want to say about clothing.  It’s only been in this last century that people have started wearing synthetic clothing, most of them being made from petrochemicals.  Synthetic fibers are not healthful.  We find synthetic fibers in clothing, bedding, mattresses, carpets, and furniture.  These are detrimental to our well being, so the less synthetic fibers you allow into your life, the better off you will be.

I really can’t stand synthetics.  I only buy natural clothing for myself, with only small amounts of synthetic material (like the elastic in my socks), and I only will buy  natural clothing for my children, although my husband and others sometimes buy them synthetics.  The more you get used to wearing natural fibers and sleeping with them, the more you will tend to hate synthetics.  People tend to get used to them and not notice as much how bad they are.  It’s similar to how a person gets so used to eating really bad food, but once you start eating well, then you eat something bad, you realize how bad it really is.

Besides the obvious comfort difference, there are several other reasons why synthetic fibers should be shunned, all relating to health.  The following discusses bedding, but the same principles apply to clothing:

Synthetic materials may generate another form of EMFs: the DC electric field, or electrostatic charge. All of us have probably had the experience of walking across a synthetic carpet, then getting an electric shock when we touch a metal doorknob. We're familiar with the crackle and cling of synthetic fabrics when we remove them from the dryer. These are very obvious examples of the electrostatic charge, which is measurable as volts per meter.

When we sleep on, and under, synthetic bedding, we are surrounded by a subtle electrostatic charge, which generates more positive than negative ions  the opposite of the balance found in nature.
Another major problem with synthetic products is the fact that they don't "breathe". Moisture is easily trapped in synthetic mattresses and pillows, attracting dust mites, and promoting microbial growth. When you consider the fact that the average sleeper gives off a pint of water vapor during an eight-hour sleep, the need for products that readily absorb, and then quickly release moisture and dry out is obvious.

Synthetic materials do not provide a connection to the healing properties of nature. Studies conducted at both the Polytechnic Institute of Wales, and the Hohenstein Institute in Germany have shown that "sleeping with untreated natural fibers actually slows the heart rate and helps regulate body temperature."

Finally…synthetic materials are not biodegradable.

There have been some interesting studies done comparing natural and synthetic fibers and how they affect our physical and mental health.  I encourage readers to read more about this topic.  Science, science, science, or said another way, knowledge, knowledge, knowledge.  All these things make perfect scientific sense.

Sick Isolation

The scriptures that address isolating people who are sick in order to prevent the spread of disease are:  Lev. 13:1-46; 14:8-9, 18, 32, 54-57; Num. 5:2-3; Deut. 24:8-9.  They mainly deal with leprosy.  The principle applies to any disease that is potentially contagious.  If people followed the law in regards to sick isolation, many fewer people would be sick.

I want to share two things that irritate me to no end.  One is that some people like to brag about themselves or their loved ones, that they are such hard workers or that they so value good attendance, that they go to work or school even when they are sick.  I’ve observed a lot of this over the years.  Listen up!  This is not something about which to brag.  You ought to be ashamed!  You have an ego problem, and you are being selfish, not thinking about others around you to whom you are exposing to filthy pathogens.  In addition, you need to rest when you are sick.

The other common thing I’ve observed over the years is that many like to go out of their way to deliberately expose their children to other children who have chicken pox.  The reasoning for this is because those who get chicken pox as children are believed less likely to get the more harmful shingles as adults.  They’re both really the same virus in the herpes family.  This is foolish reasoning, though, because if a person is healthy and takes good care of him- or herself throughout life and stays away from sick people, it’s unlikely that he or she will succumb to this virus in neither childhood, nor adulthood, and if he does, symptoms will likely be mild and won’t last long.

I have deeply meditated on this and wonder whether these people have ever considered that the virus might be stamped to near non-existence, if they didn’t so eagerly keep it spreading!  Sometimes I think people are insane.

To live a Godly life, you need to be avoiding unclean things such as herpes viruses and taking care of yourself through a good diet and a proper balance between labor and rest.  And when you do happen to succumb to an illness, take the needed actions to properly fight it, and more than likely it will not be severe.

If you are sick, stay home.  This is another reason why public hospitals are horrendous.  It’s great for emergency surgeries and such things, but for people with diseases, we truly need to go back to the time when doctors visited homes.  And for those who are healthy, it is unwise to go to these “annual check-ups,” because you are exposing yourself to all sorts of disgusting diseases.  You may be well when you go, and then when you come home, you may come down with a terrible illness.  Spare yourself.  If you are home sick with an illness and just need some medicine or something else, if at all possible have someone else get it for you, and if that person is your caretaker, the caretaker should limit physical contact with others, in case he or she is carrying the pathogen.

Sewage Management

Nations that leave their sewage in the open where it runs in the streets, tribes that defecate on the grounds near their huts, and invididual households in otherwise clean nations that do these same things are opening themselves up to pestilence and disease.

Sewage should be transported underground and carried away from homes.  If one does not have a fancy sewer system, waste should be carried away from the living area and away from any vegetation meant for food, and buried.

The law of Moses instructed that men away at war should go outside the camp to relieve himself and to bury it (Deut. 23:12-14).  This should be done any time one is in a camping situation or any other time in which our modern sewage/septic facilities are not available for use.

Safe and Clean Housing

We should extend our love toward others, both those of our own household and those outside of our immediate family membership, by keeping our houses clean and safe.

We need to wash our dishes every day and keep our kitchen and bathroom counters wiped down.  Our floors should be swept daily.  Carpet should be vacuumed, though carpet is not a good idea in the first place.  It’s truly an unclean thing.  It keeps all manner of filth hidden among the fibers, including invasive organisms.  To make matters worse, most carpet is made from synthetic fibers.  Depending on traffic, whether one has children, and other factors, carpet ought to be vacuumed daily or perhaps only weekly.

Toilets and tubs/showers should be cleaned on a regular basis.  It’s best if toilets are cleaned at least weekly.  Twice weekly or daily are even better, but simple baking soda and vinegar will do, or some other natural cleaner with perhaps citrus oils are good as well.  Harsh and toxic cleaners should not be used for the health of people and the environment.

Dusting, cleaning windows, oven and refrigerator cleanings, and other things are all important, too.  Neatness is nice and preferred over clutter, but cleanliness is the more important.  However, if a person has a house in which they have dirty clothes, dirty dishes, and trash strewn about, this is more than just mere clutter.  This indicates laziness, and in some cases, a health hazard.

In Leviticus 14, we see instructions regarding mildew in a home.  This same principle can apply to other growths, such as molds:

When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession; And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me there is as it were a plague in the house: Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house: And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow strakes, greenish or reddish, which in sight are lower than the wall; Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days: And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house; Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city: And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without the city into an unclean place: And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other morter, and shall plaister the house. And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plaistered; Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean. And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place. Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even. And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes. And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed (vs. 35-48).

Houses can be infected with molds and mildew.  The proper thing to do is to try to remove it, and while it’s undergoing cleaning and removal, the residents should leave.  If it continues to spread, or it comes back and gets out of control, burning the house is the only solution.  In ancient Israel, homes were more earthen, and man, and this type of thing truly wasn’t as common as it is today.  Also, some materials could not be burned and so must be taken out away from everyone so as not to spread the plague.  I would love to have an earthen home.  Today most  homes have sheet rock in them and all sorts of synthetic chemicals and materials.  Also, unlike earthen homes that are naturally cool in summer and warm in winter, most modern homes require a modern climate conrol system:  HVAC.

My husband owns an HVAC business.  He does work for at least two companies that specialize in water and fire damage and mold remediation.  Sometimes he has to replace the duct work in a home because of mold infestation.  Heat and air systems are prone to such.  Other times he has to replace everything because the home suffered water damage, and the insurance companies require that the HVAC system be totally replaced, because of the possibility mold or mildew spores entered the duct system, and so then could reenter the home.

Once a home is water damaged, there is a about a 24-hour window in order to get something done quickly, before mold spores begin to infest the house.  It then spreads.  The sooner something is done, the better.   The house needs to be dried out using dehumidifiers, and then a machine called an ozone generator can be used to kill any mold spores.

Sometimes, though, homes must be burned to the ground.  Black mold is especially dangerous.  It’s extremely neurotoxic.  It can destroy your bodily systems, and it can even kill you.  My husband told me that the owner of one of the aforementioned remediation companies walked into one house (with a mask and other protection, of course), and mold had already spread everywhere.  There was nothing that could be done.  The house had to be burned.  Mold is a very serious issue.  Some uneducated people do not realize just how serious molds and mildew are.  One thing is for sure.  God orders us to not live in such conditions, and He does so, because He loves us.
